I live in New York City and recenly started looking around for bicycle mechanic classes. I'd like to learn to build bikes from scratch and seriously work on bikes, fixing things other than flat tires (which I've completely mastered over a year of commuting).
It looks like the only technical programs are offered in Oregon and Colorado, and while I really like Time's Up skill share nights, I'm looking for something more structured. Park Tool offers workshops in New Paltz, and that's the most promising thing I've found. I'm not looking to change careers or anything, but this has become a rather serious obsession.
Is anyone else interested in doing this, or have any leads?
Thanks,
Cameron

Dates
Speaking for myself, I've offered to volunteer for 3-4 Sunday afternoon classes in August. Why August? Many folks go on vacation in July and September is century season. I'm working out the details with the club right now.
