I'm trying to map out a ride to the Warwick, NY area. Gorgeous, rolling hills and farms- looks like Ireland. I'm thinking to train it over to Harrison or Peekskill, cross the Bear Mtn bridge and work my way West through Harriman. Return on a similar path back through Harriman.

Question, does anyone know if Route 6 is rideable through Harriman? I know all about 7 Lakes and Gate Hill, but I want a different route back. Also, once I get through Harriman, I'm wondering, does anyone know if Route 17A is bikeable?

Yes, on all accounts!

There's even a ready-made-route in the NYCC ride library, authored by none other than our NYCC ride librarian:

Hank usually leads this A ride around this time of year. If not in June, then look for it in July.

Alternatives to Route 6

Lake Kanawauke Rd (Rte 106) and Arden Valley Rd are both scenic roads and have much less traffic than Route 6, and both go to the western end of the park.
