Bolero

They should have it at Piermont Bicycle Connection, in Piermont (one hour ride). Check www.piermontbike.com

Help

Serious questions - what exactly does this thing do? Would you actually take it off during a ride? And put it where? And if it's cold enough to wear a bolero why not just wear a jersey with sleeves?

To me it looks like the answer to a question that wasn't asked.

They're just arm warmers. Put them in the same place you would arm warmers (uh, jersey pocket!?) I like to wear racer back and sleeveless jerseys so the bolero covers more than arm warmers.

It's a chick product so no need to stress, Evan. ;-)

It doesn't look like it would work very well if you wear it over a jersey (what keeps it closed?). If you wear it under a jersey it looks like it would take a wrestling match to get it off.

Yeah, too stressful for me.

girls have a higher tolerance for agony. :-D

It doesnt close like a jacket, it doesn't even cover the, uh, womanly parts. It's they cycling equivalent to a shrug. And if you know what that is, I'm impressed.

A shrug?

Oh, a monkey jacket.

Jeez, whyn't ya just say it was a style thing? Lemme tell ya about stylish-lookin' stuff I've bought that doesn't work worth a damn...

LOL.

Uh, nope. Not a style thing. Just arm warmers.

I will actually be at the bike shop in Piermont tomorrow as I work near there and need a wheel trued. If you want to call and check to see if they have these in stock, just let me know before lunchtime at email address above (including size). You would only then need to trek to the UWS to pick up.

Constructive criticism

"Email message from a friend:

""Evan ... I tried the bolero, it looked cool, but I found it to be uncomfortable. I agree with you, stylish but does not always work well."""

Thanks, you wouldn't have come off as such a jerk if you tried that the first time.

All the other ladies I know who own it, love it. I thought I would try it.
