Unfortunately, I don't have the energy to wake up and do Christy's early morning 6 a.m. ride. If you have the same problem, then you are welcome to join me for some laps in the evening. Meeting place is the boat house at 7 pm, leaving at 7:05 pm for 3 or 4 laps. Moderate pace just to get those legs going nice. Maybe 17, 18 on the flats, maybe even 19! Email me to confirm or just show up. Starting tonight, Thursday night.
Evening laps in Central Park
Sounds good - have been waiting (putting it off??) until the clocks go back to get going during the weeks, so some company for some evening laps would be good. Been riding the mtb recently, so need to get some road miles in. I'll watch out for posts next week.
Meet at the boat house at 7 pm, leave at 7:05 for 3 or 4 laps, weather permitting. Everyone is welcome to join. Hey, it beats riding alone! lol. If the ride is cancelled due to light snow or rain, I will re-post. Tonight Wednesday 4/5.
Hi Hector,
I'm in the A Classic and Lisa Lurie, my mentor, told me about the night rights. I have a flex schedule, so can often get in a ride at 10 am when cars clear out. But I'd like to keep the 7 pm rides as an option.
I don't usually ride after dark, well I never do. How is the lighting on the roads after dark? I have run at that time and it can get pretty dark around the top of the West Side. Do you ride with a light? Just wondering.
Thanks!
Karol
Even though it looks like the rain is stopping, it doesn't look like it will get above 35-37 degrees tonight and with the roads still wet and slippery there is no sense in riding tonight so I'm going to xnay the ride until tomorrow night at 7 pm. If any of you were planning on riding tonight you can email me offline and try to convince me otherwise I will see you tomorrow.
Karol, riding at night is fantastic. I highly recommend it. The park is well lit in most parts. I don't use a light, it's not really necessary in order to see. Come out and join us, you'll see for yourself. I promise we won't drop you in the dark. lol.
Well, I'm sorry to do this but the sun is shining and I've changed my mind so the ride tonight, 4/5, is still on. Meet at the boat house at 7 pm, ride at 7:05 for 3 or 4 laps. All are welcome to join. 16-19 mph pace on the flats to get the legs going nice. Email to confirm or just show up.
Hector,
Are you still going to ride tomorrow night, also? I had planned on joining you, then. I am tired of getting up to ride in the AM!
Thanks,
Peter
Meet at the boat house at 7 pm, ride at 7:05 for 3 or 4 laps. 16-19 mph on the flats to get the legs going nice. If I can't get there because of work than Lisa Lurie will be the happy crew leader. See you there.
Hector- You've been riding with Bruno too much!! (we hit 28)
