Who would have been faster - a road biker or Hal the Wily CP Coyote?? (come on, we're all bummed we didn't spot a coyote while riding or jogging the loop) Extra points to Hal for jumping the 8 foot fence.

Coyote vs. Biker in Central Park
In his early years, my Dalmatian could stay along side of the bike on the downhill and flats of Prospect Park. Against a cyclist, Hal wouldn’t even break a sweat.
Allesandro Petacchi or Tom Boonen might be able to beat Hal the coyote, on a good day, but you my friend…
"You A Classic riders gotta lay off the EPO (or is it now high fructose corn syrup)?? As I told you before ALLEZ VINO!
p.s. No stinkin' coyote can take me.
""This year I am preparing everything for the Tour and we are planning to have no pressure before that,"" Vinokourov told VeloNews in an interview this week. ""I think I can return to the Tour podium.""
The battling Kazakh - third overall in the 2003 Tour and fifth last year - revamped his racing schedule this year to make a clear run for the Tour podium. He's skipped Paris-Nice and won't start the Giro d'Italia, like many of the Tour favorites are doing this season.
Instead, he'll race only at Liège and in June's Dauphiné Libéré before his date with July.
"
No, my friend, MY bicycle IS FASTER! What tour are you preparing for? The Tour of Rockland County Dunkin' Donuts? Will the prologue be at the Runcible Spoon?
You never forget your first love and my first love is skiing not biking. Nothing beats a powder day.
And get hip, man - Dunkin' Donuts are sooo 90's. I do the Organic Tour de Whole Foods now. But if the cops had eaten fewer doughnuts, they could have caught Hal Coyote sooner.
p.s. MY training wheels are BIGGER than your training wheels!
Il mio primo amore sta sciando, anche, but sometimes you have to sacrifice the short term for the long term gain. Winter is over after this weekend. Get on you bike and train for the Tour de Pathmark! There are no Whole Foods stores north of White Plains.
Speaking of skiing, remind me to tell you my story about cops, Dunkin' Donuts and Brattleboro, Vermont.
I hope your training wheels are bigger than mine. Otherwise I am in big trouble! Could have used a bigger pair (of training wheels) last Saturday, though.
BTW, if Tom Boonen is not fast enough to catch Hal, how could the cops catch him?
Hal didn't have a lead out. Tom does.
Hal took a nice flyer, though, didn't he?
"Hey Peter -
It was nice passing you today in Englewood. I guess ""your bike"" was a little slow today?? Were you smelling the roses?
Better get a better leadout, il mio amico lento.
"
Il mio treno del leadout non era sulle piste, ancora. I'll take you on two up. Any day.
I was actually going slowly while learning how to ride in a rotating paceline. Funny, I heard somewhere you were told to show up 15 minutes early for remedial instruction for a B ride.
Al bisogno si conosce l'amico.

RIP to Hal's fellow coyote.
Vedali giù sulla strada, Jack! Significo Derek!
On Saturday, just before Hopewell we saw a coyote; sadly the poor fellow was run over by a car.
I hope Hal is moved to a very remote section of Adirondack Park where he will have some chance of survival.
Perhaps all the stress of being chased and then held captive for over a week killed him.
Just saw that on the news. RIP Hal.
Live free or die. (new hampshire has it right)
Derek - It’s too bad you are probably already soaking in the sun in Belize. Today’s A-SIG ride was dedicated to Hal. You actually would have made it to New Rochelle before you were spit out the back ?
"Dood - Some of us do have interests beyond biking and SIGs. Ya know, there's a whole world outside of NY!
I thought I saw you last week, Peter, but it turned out to be a slow iguana. Thought I spotted you again but it was just a scurrying hermit crab....
The motto of Belize : ""Sub Umbra Florero"" - Under the shade (of the mahogany tree) I flourish.
Kinda like how Hal thrived under the CP elms. RIP HAL.
"
Dude- get the spelling correct! Some of us do not have time for much else right now. We have to work, in addition to biking and trying to have a social life. Vacations don't happen from March – May, unlike with you. BTW, I'll be thinking of you when I am at the Skip Barber Racing School in two weeks. You'll probably be bonking when doing 10 mph laps around CP because you spent too much time on the beach in Belize. I imagine I'll be doing laps at least 50 mph faster than you, while doing something other than biking. I'll even think about you this weekend while we are riding to Saddle River. It would take you two days to complete that ride, with all of the rest stops you make.
"Hal provided a great story. Last week two of my business counterparts from Switzerland were here in NYC for the first time. At dinner in the Chart House in Weehawken looking out over the city and one of them asked me ""where do you go if you want to see some nature?"" I said ""nature sometimes comes to us.""

...be taken off-board, to a private e-mail exchange? It's getting a little old.
and, personally, i found the lite tone refreshing.
"yah, man, you don't have to read this admittedly random banter. no problem, man. don't worry, be happy. boop boop de doop.
