Anyone know of any bars etc in the city that plan on showing Milan San Remo on Saturday - hopefully after the Grant's Tomb races

OLN is showing it at 5 on Sunday. A bar would have to have a European feed to show it. What's the likelihood of that?

What about DirectTV?

I know DTV has many international channels. Anyone know of a bar with it?

Probably the race of the season. Pettachi vs. Boonen. My money's on Boonen.

Zabel isnt a team leader for MSR

Unless Pettachi gets dropped on the Poggio,it's highly unlikely Zabel will be contesting the sprint since he is now Pettachi's lead out man. A top 10 or 15 may be possible but I don't expect him to be on the podium.

2nd place

Although, I truly think Christian's got it right - to be different, I'll pick Paolo Bettini for 2nd and to finish first, Robbie Mcewen.

Should Zabel Retire?

Zabel has had numerous 2nd place finishes this season already. He acknowledges that he does not have the speed that he once had. The conventional wisdom is that an athlete should bow out when he is no longer at the top of his form, that the athlete should not embarass himself/herself by continuing to compete. But Zabel's not exactly pack fodder; he's still finishing in top placings, is a factor in the finish and is being beaten by the likes of Boonen, who while it is too early to tell, may become one of history's best cyclists. I admire Zabel for continuing to compete and continuing to do what he loves, maybe not at the same level as the best but still at the top tier level.

zabel

if he's finishing 2nd to Boonen and Petacchi, then he still is at the top. It's not like he's finishing out of the top 10.
