"Starts: 09:30 AM from 23rd Street & First Avenue
Ends: 4:00 PM in lower Manhattan (or sooner via subway/LIRR if you need to bail)
All new route out to Long Beach. A brief stop for pizza and then home again. Mostly flat, but the winds off the ocean will add texture.
The ride's ""structured improv"" format dictates we maintain a cohesive group at a steady pace. Bring $$ plus a LIRR/Metro-North Bike pass in case you need to bail.
RSVP: Neile Weissman, soupstone-at-mindspring-dot-com
Serious rain, or the failure of at least three people to RSVP by Saturday night, cancels. Check the message board on Sunday morning for ride status.

NWS forecast: Snow tapering off and ending during the afternoon. Blowing snow with visibility one quarter mile or less at Times. Total accumulation of 6 to 12 inches. Windy with highs in the upper 20s. North winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
Could winds out of the north push the storm out to the east?

Not quite dead yet.
Alternately, I'm strapping the studs onto the mountain bike. Spin class in the morning, then possibly laps on the bridal path. Or an Einkaufsfahrt to Larchmont. Message me if you're interested.

Sunday, 2/12 - B17/70 "Beaches of Nassau #3"
I'm looking at NOAA and there's a 40% chance of snow for Sunday not to mention Saturday's forcast... what's your threshold for riding concerning the threat of snow?
thanks!
Katie

I hope you aren't disrupting any weddings. ;-)
Actually, there's a 1959 Sidney Gilliat and Frank Launder film ""The Bridal Path"" that I hope to see someday, about the misadventures of a young Hebridean country-boy who goes wife-hunting on the Scottish mainland.

God, what a typo :)
PS> Looks like John Z. has his own wedding plans for Wednesday. Grooms welcome.
uh, you wouldn't happen to have a copy would you?
"Police Sergeant Bruce: ""This looks like the biggest job we've had in years, Alec. Better get the bicycles out.""
Unfortunately, like many films that I want to see, ""The Bridal Path"" isn't available on tape or DVD.
