Given the weather has taken a turn for the cold, albeit normal cold and not real cold, I think perhaps a counterclockwise perimeter tour of Manhattan is in order, as keeping to parks and the Greenway will allow for an even pace with few stops/starts. Maybe go up to Fort Tryon Park too.

Skinny tires?
John, since you're doing greenways this week, will the ride be skinny-tire friendly? Or will you still need fat tires?

Tires
There would be a spot or two off-road...

Sounds good, John. I've never done the full perimiter. FYI, Chris won't be there.

Wrap Up
These colder evenings allow for the opportunity to ride in places one might not ordinarily ride. As anticipated, along the route we did encounter stretches that would have been difficult with a road bike including mud, salt, cobblestone, broken glass and gravel. All the good stuff. As always, everyone contributes to the actual route selection and everyone benefits.

thanks
I, too, enjoyed the ride. Always interesting to see the many facets of this enormous city - including the quieter places.
