Meet 9:00 AM at Pennsylvania Station for the 9:14 New Jersey Transit train to New Brunswick, NJ arriving 10:07 AM.

75 total miles: 42 miles to New Hope (non-stop, but it is mostly flat), 33 miles return (non-stop). We will have lunch at Carla’s in New Hope (a rare sit-down restaurant lunch). This is the perfect route for a mild winter day.

this sounds like a plan....

Do I need a NJ bike permit for the train?

Also is NJ transit at the west end of penn station?

NJT

No permit is required and NJT is at the west end.

Front, back or middle of train?

Do you have any idea where on the train you plan/will-be-directed to get on? Most likely I'll be catching the train at, ehmmmm, the other Penn Station in Newark.

Indeed! almost ideal conditions and in January - two Saturdays in a row!
Despite the loss of a water bottle early on I had a very enjoyable ride.

What's the weather looking like next Saturday?

Next Saturday

Accuweather predicts 47. Cooler than today, but still above normal. We need to think of something different, but then for us that would be Nyack...
