I bough it, I tried it, I decided it wasn't my thing.
55cm Bianchi Pista, fixed gear.
Chrome, I think 2004.
I have added a front brake. The bike currently has road bars and a road stem. I still have the original bars and stem. I wrapped the top tube, down tube and seat tube with inner tubes to protect them as I thought I would use the bike as a commuter.
The chain ring is now a 44. I have the original also.
Originally $550, I am looking to get $300 o.b.o.
FS: 55cm Bianchi Pisti - fixed gear
As I have been toying with the idea of going fixed gear, what about it do you not like?
I'm interested! How can I view and/or try the bike?
I live up in Riverdale, or we could meet in the city somewhere.
I thought it would be a great training tool/commuter. I just never got comfortable riding a fixed gear in traffic. I found it really hard to remember to keep pedaling as I was braking. Plus there are too many hills between midtown and riverdale.
Would have many of the advantages of a fixed without the disadvantages you don't like.
If I am going to ride it as a freewheel, I might as well ride one of my other three bikes.
I want to keep my number of bikes around 4, and I would like to get a mountain bike.

Most of us would read ""too many hills"" as potentially a significant disadvantage for a single speed!

I'll take it if it's still up for grabs-
