I'd appreciate recommendations for tour companies that do good tours in Italy (other than La Corsa). It's for the parents, both distance cyclists/triatletes, so they'd be looking for a reasonably challenging set of rides, but relaxed with nice accomodations in cute towns. For regions, I'd think Tuscany/Umbria.

"I've done 10 tours with this company, including Tuscany, Umbria and Sardinia - all terrific. The routes are challenging enough, and you can usually add daily mileage onto the set route. You don't have to stick with the group. The hotels are good, the restaurants are always very good, the tour leaders are knowledgeable and helpful. Bikes are included in the tour price and they're decent quality.

I got to do a butterfield Giro trip this year. Very well done. Just make sure they know they are riders, because Butterfield will design the trip around the participants.

B&R & Exp Plus are good but one is at top of cost spectrum
and one is low on cost spectrum A happy medium might be Ciclismo Classico in Boston area which has sent 6,000 people on bike tours, mostly in Italy and has tours in almost all Ital regions. My favorite tour of theirs is Sardinia-Corsica. I am now in S Amer for more info pls contact me after Nov 12
