Does anyone know a bike route to Princeton? I assume the first leg would be Path to Newark. Thanks.

CT to Princeton

Chaim .... Gil Gilmore who is a BNY Masi rode from CT to Princeton brevet start a few years back. He was volunteering that day for the 400K. When he arrived, the riders had just left and then he spent the day volunteering - well, the next 28 hours.

You can email me privately if you want to get in touch with him. He cycles EVERYWHERE (i.e. CT to DC) with a fully loaded bike.

Princeton routes $25 with discount to club members

Email me if you want a nice route to Princeton from Newark.
John Zenkus has a terrific long tour of that area that starts in New Brunswick.

Thanks & Questions

Hi Robert,
I got it, thanks very much! Was this a ride you led a while ago? I noticed the cue sheet is labeled 1/2005.
Can you give me an idea of what the climbs are like compared to, say, Churchill or Booth? I see the highest point is about 490 feet with total 2,000 vertical feet. Roughly how much do we climb between Piermont and the GWB? I'm trying to figure out if this is a killer hilly route or just a normal somewhat hilly route. Thanks.
Regards, Chaim

First ride of A19 STS 2005

The route is similar in difficulty to a ride to Piermont in terms of total vertical gain. (Piermont also has 2000 feet.) This is a B route or a difficult C route.
