Unfamiliar Roads in Familiar Neighborhoods
Join me in a variation of a Fred Steinberg adventure that I have not done before.
Meet at 8:30 for the 8:48 Train to North White Plains for a clean start. Up to Chappaqua but not by Whippoorwill. Continue on Roaring Brook but not the usual one; by the Croton, Peekskill, and then Anthony’s neck, not his nose. Mine Road the wrong way for sure. Storm King Highway, Cornwall, Beacon for 60 miles or Poughkeepsie for 75 miles. Probably nearly a mile of vertical even if you quit at Beacon and much more than a mile if you make it to Poughkeepsie. I will be making sure that no one is left behind on the hills and if you want this to be faster, be my guest. No guarantee of all paved roads, this is really a scouting ride.

Sat 8/6 Bear Mt ride
Come join me for a trip up to Bear Mt. Everyone is welcome and as always it will be a relaxed pace. The good news is that last weekend someone showed me a scenic route that avoids the misery of strip malls & traffic of Haverstraw (sp?) and goes by the water & sailboats through roads with little to no traffic.
We will meet at Engineer's Gate (90th St & 5th Ave in the Park) at 9am and ride out with the Nyack group until its time to split off. Pace is around A19. Let me know if you are interested, either email me or call 917.273.1702.
Chris
p.s Just to avoid confusion this is also with Asphalt Green people, so if you see them you are at the right place.
