"I haven't watched Charlie Rose in a long time, and am not going to watch tonight, but thought some of you might be interested.
(Edited to add: by ""Lance"" I mean Lance Armstrong, in case you've forgotten. After all, he's retired now, and how quickly people fade out of public awareness!)"

Those who switched from Charlie Rose to Letterman got a enlightening take on how two smart interviewers with different styles can evoke different aspects of the same subject.
But I bet Charlie wishes he thought of the basket first ...
"I truely enjoyed the Charlie Rose interview with Lance. He seems a lot more open now that he is retired. here are a few things I enjoyed or learned:
1) despite the suggestion that he would go into politics, he says that's another job that is living on the road, and he means to stay close to his kids
2) He's still going to keep active with the Discovery team, just not as a competitor
3) He's talking about how great Sheryl is and realtes that during the stage 20 time trial his son Luke was glued to the TV. After watching Michael Rassmussen crash and burn, he turned to Sheryl and asked, ""Is Daddy going to stop and help him?"" Out of the mouths of babes....
4) There are a lot of cycling fans who don't regard him as the greatest cyclist ever (myself included)and many (not me) say so because he never did the Giro, this classic, that race,... Well, he points out that such is true, but that does not bother him, because he did other things, such as the Tour of Hope 4 times. Post 1996, Lance did not ride for the adulation of the average cycling fan, but for all the paitients, their families, nurses, doctors, researchers, etcetra (""hey, there's our guy and he's winning the Tour de France""), a lot of people who don't cycle very much, many probably without a bicycle at all. So, he knows his fan base.
The Letterman piece was typical late night fluff, although the basket was a cute idea.
The OLN interview with Phil and Paul was more cycling focused, but had its good moments. Still, you can tell there was some major editing to groove the interview to OLN's viewer base (whatever that is ;). The sounds of the cicadaes in the background is beautiful. ahh, a villa in the south of France...
