Looking for an old pair of cycling shoes suitable for toe clips, for my 13 year old son. We're headed to Kissena for some junior track racing. He's growing too fast for me to buy a new pair--he'll be a size 11 by September!

Anybody got an old pair of size 9 (european size 43) shoes in the back of their closet?

And yes, I know Nashbar has old stock Dueggis for $14.95, but not in his size.

Oh, if you have a 53cm track bike gathering dust, we'll take that, too!

Thanks.

Sid's Bike Shop / Bike Works

"Hi,

Sid's at 235 East 34th St. between 3rd & 2nd Avenues, Manhattan, has MKS metal toeclips, size large, for about 12 dollars.

If you're a current NYCC member, bring the current Bulletin with your address for a purchase discount.

Also Bike Works, on 106 Ridge St. on the lower East side of Manhattan, also has metal toeclips, leather toe straps and track pedals:

The owner, David Perry, is the author of the acclaimed ""Bike Cult"" book.

I'm one of the last non-messenger, non-track bike cyclists who doesn't use clipless peds. Until they stop making suitable bike shoes, I'm staying with metal clips and leather straps.

Hope this helps,
Alfredo

Thanks Alfredo.

Clips & straps we have. We're looking for a pair of shoes to go with them, ideally and old pair of Dueggis, Dietos, Maressi, etc.

john, hi;

i picked up a pair of leather Duegi for $23 on eBay, size 43 a few weeks back, with cleats. in the little research i did, eBay turned out to be my best bet. they lock into my campy record pedals and clips quite nicely.
