"I want to buy a used 7cm quill stem.

Here are the specs I need:

Clamp diameter: 26.0mm or 26.4mm
Quill diameter: 22.2mm (standard for 1"" steerer)
Quill length: 135-160mm (no Technomic! Tech Dlx ok)
Angle: 72 degree or 90 degree
Extension: 70mm (duh!)

Prefer silver.

Nitto Aero or Ritchey/Specialized-branded Nitto is perfect. Cinelli 1/A or X/A is fine too. Salsa or Nitto tig-welded stem is good stuff.

Looking to pay $10-30, depending on brand and condition. Will pick up in 5 Boroughs. Can also swap for other cool bike stuff (like a Nitto/Ultegra hidden bolt stem in 120mm or a front track hub or a mini brake lever for a fix.

Thanks,
- Christian"

time to get on the horn and start calling

A good time to list the local used bike dealers again, maybe one of them has what you need:

Call Pedal Pusher, too. Not strictly used bikes but he's been in business for a zillion years and has what amounts to museum in his basement. 212.288.5592, 1306 2nd Ave @ 69th St.

Check out www.yellowjersey.org - they have tons of old stuff (they had Look two-bolt MTB cleats, out of production for at least 10 years, when I thought I needed them two years ago.)

Stopped into this place one day looking for centerpull brakes - www.greenmountainbikes.com. They had 'em. Maybe 7cm stems too?

Last resort, Peter White - $55 DA stems.

Good luck.

Thx Evan.

The PJW D/A is the obvious choice if I can't turn up something used. We're just playing with fit, so cheaper the better and so on. Prolly have a look on ebay if I can't find something locally....
