Imbert Jimenez, the master bike mechanic from TOGA has just ventured out on his own. After 16+ years and working under 3 different owners at TOGA, Imbert is doing a one man show at the NE corner of 77th and B’way. (225 w 77th. St., across from AVIS). 212-580-2355.
I’ve always had excellent results from Imbert’s work and I recommend him highly for all your spring tunes-ups and repairs. It’s a tiny shop right now, but he offers 24-hour (in a roll?) repair service at (646) 247-4608. So if you break something packing your bike in a case the night before a trip, he’s the man to call.
You’re guaranteed great service and prices because you’re always dealing with the owner of the shop. He’s Latin American (no offense intended) so all you ESL and English teachers are forewarned :-)
Come support your local small bike shop, or just drop in and say HI and check out the place.

Wow! That's a huge loss to TOGA, but a boon to those of us who live on the UWS. Imbert is very, very good.
