I received the following messge this morning from member and president of BTCNH, Jim Nicholson.

Blumenschein died yesterday while on a ride in Central Park. Initial
indications are that it was a heart attack.

George was an amiable and friendly fellow, and had a great love of
cycling. I only got to know him in the past year after we rode the
Farmlands Century together last year. I only wish that I could have had
the pleasure of knowing him for a longer time.

George will be waked at the Kaminski Funeral Home, 106 Locust Avenue in
Wallingford, NJ, (973) 779-1967, hours as follows:

Tuesday, 7 PM until 9 PM

Wednesday, 2 PM until 4 PM and 7 PM until 9 PM

The funeral will be on Thursday at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Church in East
Rutherford, NJ. The church is located at the corner of Hoboken Road and
Hackensack Ave.

If there is any comfort at all to be derived from this, it is that George
died doing what he loved best -- riding his bike.

Jim
