Re: Non-workers of the world

Non-workers of the world unite!
You have nothing to do but post replies.

(And nothing to lose but your chains, but then you'll have to walk home.

Yeah, yeah! What Tom said.

"
3) Art only belongs in museums.
And yes, concerts should only be played indoors.
Garth Brooks should be banned from the Great Lawn.

5) The slippery slope: Today it's Christo, tomorrow it's Disney.
You know- the Bellvedre castle is looking more and more like the magic kingdom.

There are rumors that the CP zoo will soon be sponsored by Never-Neverland.

6) Lewis Carroll was a pederast?
-Did he use Campy or Shimano?

Hitler was rejected from Art school in Vienna. ""World domination"" was his fall back career. Apparently he wasn’t very successful in that field. But he was very charismatic and had a way of delivering rants to rile up the malcontents of his society.

Let’s see, I think the sky is 60% gray today, what do you think?

"Add this - ""If a Mavic WinTech computer costs $150 and you have $20 million dollars
- How many WinTechs could I buy?
- If I bought one WinTech, how many $200 GoreTex jackets could I afford?
- How do I get my hands on $20 million anyway""

- Isaac (who won an oversize cloth cap not, the WinTech, at the last club meeting, and outfits his wardrobe from the swap table.)"

Christo, Art, Lewis Carroll- Thanks!

I logged on 10 minutes ago-tired, gloomy...
Had a huge headache from a sinus infection.

Your posts reminded me of-
Madeleines, which are still my younger daughter's favorite cake and of the Alice statue, on which my older daughter spent many a day climbing.

After reading the combination of the posts above laughed, I cried, and laughed again.
The tears cleared my sinus, the laughter lifted my mood and I think I even got an abdominal work-out of it.
Many thanks,

Lynn

Here's something you missed

"""4) Being an art major or art school graduate makes your opinion of Christo's wrap more valid.""

Tom--more valid than what?

Uh oh, there I go again, correcting your grammar! I'm so sorry, Tom--I know you hate it when people act like they possess superior knowledge.

But you also appear to have missed the irony of my claim to be an art school graduate. I guess those italics just aren't self-conscious enough (c.f. Critical Mass participants being art school dropouts).

As for any supposedly superior judgment about Christo, I say nothing at all about his work.

Whatever the statements on this board are--silly or not--they're part of the club's conversation. It's too bad you want to squelch it with a scolding judgment. I don't think you'll succeed.

Hidden Gates

The bases that are in place for the Gates are now covered by snow. At least a few people fell today. The best part is, with those bases in place, the Parks Dept can't plow the walkways.

not-so-hidden gates

admittedly i have not traversed the entire park to check every path, but as of this morning (1/25) the paths around the 96th street entrance have been plowed with the gates still in place.
