"Click here to see the photos from the New Year's Day bike ride from City Hall/Manhattan to Coney Island, where some of us joined the Polar Bears Club and swam in the freezing ocean waters. Later, many of us went to a party at Tony's house."

The Isle of Coney

Nice pics Ed! –7.2 Mega Pixels (I’ve got pixel envy). I like the one of me stuffing my face with two hands. (I did ride 24 miles)

Thanks Marci! This could be one of NYCC’s great traditions. Balmy weather for the first 2 years!

Tony’s hospitality is the best!

Does any body know if John Z. rode out to Montauk?

Try the Rockaways

FYI, there's a nice little pizzeria on the west side of Beach 108th St., south of Rockaway Beach Blvd. near the shore. Delicious, pungent marinara slice for $1.75.

Movie trivia: The toll booth on the Cross Bay Bridge is where Sonny got mowed down in The Godfather, sez John. Wouldn't have happened if they had E-Z pass.

We caught the R train at Forest Hills at dusk. Tim McWebmaster gets credit for the route.
