As most of you know Eden Weiss has blazed a tremendous path is establishing the clubs, “bike shop club meeting” participation program.
Unfortunately, life [Eden’s job] has gotten in the way of his continuing in that role. We need someone to step up to the plate and take over immediately.
If you are interested please contact me ASAP [off 212 575-0805 x303 or [email protected]] so we can get the ball rolling for 2005.
Eden, all the best and, on behalf of the club, and myself, thanks for the great job you did and the fun and rewards all the members had with it.

Please consider discontinuing this practice.

"I've always had difficulty accepting that we should put the squeeze on a shop to pony up swag for our meetings.

It really is, no matter how gently applied,strong-arming in that I don't think a shop could feel comfortable about saying ""no"" lest they feel they are alienating the club membership. That's a Hobson's choice--or, actually, lack of choice. For that reason, I urge the club to abandon this practice.

I agree

(I couldn't pass up an opportunity to agree with Richard. I don't know when it will come around again.)

"""Hey, I'm askin' a favor. You got a problem wit dat?"""

"So it's not like anybody actually came out and said, ""Do youse want 1,500 local bicyclists to boycott your shop and badmouth you all over Noo Yawk, or do youse want to hand over part of your stock and count your lucky stars youse is still in business?""

All anybody actually said was, ""We want to make you an offer you won't want to refuse.""

What, I have to spell it out in blood on the sidewalk for you?

As Radovan Dolcik, the Montenegrin Shakespeare once said, ""'Tis but an implication of a suggestion, of a phantom of a recommendation which pressures not the brain by route of the ear, but simply plants a seed of thought that I must do this or I will most horribly die.""

Your Pal,
Etoain"
