Any recommendations out there on good workstands? How much do you need to spend to get a decent one? I'll just be using it for restoring and maintaining a few bikes.

"I have a Park PRS-5, which was recently discontinued and is available for around $225 on the net. I have been very happy with it. The new Park PRS stand is the PRS-15. It looks even nicer, but is expensive. Both fold and the PRS-5 fits inside a 36""x5""x5"" bag.

I'd recommend the Park PRS series wholeheartedly.

On another thought - it would be really cool if the club had a workstand and some travel cases for rent!

Storage & administration of the loan out program are the issues. Are you volunteering?

Yes. Maybe. Let me ruminate over the storage issue - maybe I can think of a location. I bet I could convince a bike shop to store the boxes, on the idea that people going on a trip would stop by (and likely buy pre-trip stuff).

I have no problems with the administration. I can set up a rental calendar on a website (this one or my own) and administer fees that way.

Cheers,

Christian,
Thanks for the info... roadbikereview.com also gave the Park PRS 5 good reviews...another popular one is the
Ultimate BRS-80BT Pro Bike Repair Stand... FYI for those also shopping...or asking Santa for one.
