there were signs posted that the park drive was closed till nov.11 due to nyc marathon. does anyone know if the loop is still accessible for riding...

It's very hard to get by the Marathon finish line setup and grandstands between W. 72nd and 67th. The drive is pretty well blocked and busy with construction trucks and cranes, workers, Marathon personnel, trailers, TV vans - you name it.
Once you get past all that, you can ride the loop as usual (at least you could yesterday)!

"I was in the Park today at 7:30. What a difference from an ordinary weekday morning. No cars, no carriages, just people, with the exception of a few Park vehicles. You have to make a very short detour at W. 67th St (the marathon finish line).
Enjoy the car-free Park while you can! Let's hope it will soon be permanently car-free.
