any good suggestions for good day trip mountain biking close to Manhattan? have heard about Ringwood in Jersey and Blue Mountain in Peekskill.

would like to get there within 1-2 hours by car. getting dark early unfortunately and fall is kicking in.

Add Wawayanda State Park. About 15 minutes past Ringwood.

heard Ringwood is massive and not very well marked but Blue is pretty well maintained.

any truth?

Biked yesterday at Blue Mt. You'd better know where you are. Trail markings are scarce at best. There is a trail map, but it's pretty useless because the trail markers are missing on the trails.
Ringwood is big. Most mountain biking starts out of parking lot C.
