Looks like yet another day with a scarcity of rides so....I'm up for leading a B-17 to wherever with whoever for however long. If anyone is interested, please email me and...assuming there's interest...I'll email or call back and get into organization mode. If you leave an email address please be sure its not a work email that cannot be accessed from home. I'm figuring maybe 60-70 miles leaving the Boat House at 8 or 8:30 and getting back no later than 4 but preferably by 3.

Sunday B-ride

Looks like the weather will cooperate so let's meet at the boathouse at 8:30am and head out for a calm and well paced ride. We'll hold to the B-17 pace but if anyone wants to go faster they are welcome to split off. If we encounter any hills we'll wait at the top for those of us who are vertically challenged (myself included). Please be prompt and bring a helmet, water or the like...oh yes...and a smile. Please check back here tomorrow morning between 6 and 7am for any last minute updates.

If the weather improves, I'll join in. Where are we going to ride, though?

Gravitationally Challenged riders

Will we wait at the bottom of steep down hills so the skinny and cautious can catch up??

Bob,

Where are you going and what time will you cross GWB (if you will)?

Sunday B-17 ride

We'll cross the GWB around 9:15am. Route will be decided in the morning but I have two in mind. One is to Nyack via Bradley and the other is South Mountain Road. Weather looks great. See you all in the morning.

A Great Ride!

It was another great ride led by Bob. About 20 people rode roughly 87 miles. We all had a great time and minimal mechanicals! The route was lovely and so was the weather. Thanks Bob!

one of the best rides of the year

Kudos to everyone who completed today's ride. Best paceline skills I have seen this year without doubt. The outbound had a very nice working pace. Excellent comradarie. Thanks Russ for showing us the great bagels in Hohokus.

Fantastic weather -- perfect temp and humidity for me, not a cloud in the sky.

Kudos to Bob for selecting good places to double paceline, switch back to single, and overall decisive leadership. Also, great deputization in having Russ, Mike and I lead us while were off the cue sheet -- nobody got lost while we freelanced.

Peter, you must be nominated for Best Schwebber of the year, and hope your slight injury heals quickly. You were the Trooper of the Day.

Sunday, Aug 22 B-17 ride

Chris,

Thanks for the nomination. The cuts actually started gushing again after I took a shower. Some elevation and Liquid Band-Aid stopped it, though.

Bob, Chris, Russ and Mike, thanks for leading the ride.

By the way, I am no longer a Century virgin. I did two laps in the park to get the mileage up to 100!

B-17 ride

"Congratulations Peter...I knew you'd do that after I suggested it. And thanks to the group for a safe ride. It wasnt easy ""Curbing your enthusiasm"" but we still got thru it virtually unharmed. Peter's mishap had nothing to do with not following safety guidlines...and now he has a way of remembering the ride (smile)

And my thanks to Russ and Mike for being our eyes off the cue sheet.

See you all on the road"

Off the Cue Sheet... Badly

Was meandering through Fort Lee, after being convinced Churchill wasn't the easiest way up. With a generally good sense of direction but no map I ended up climbing Speer... big mistake... big

Fun ride... thanks Bob and Russ. my part was easy.. I rode those roads when I was 8.. seem to recall climbing South Mountain on a Schwinn Stingray at one time. On the way down those baseball cards in the fenders made a serious rumble
