"since the weather cancelled the ""no class"" all-class ride on 7/24, keith and i have decided to fill the glaring gap in a- and b-rides for sunday, august 8th.

a/b18, ~50 miles, 9:00am at the boathouse. all single-speed and fixed gear bikes welcomed. bikes with derailleurs allowed only if the rider promises not to shift. shifting riders will be sprayed with the contents of someone's water bottle!

everyone had fun on the last all-class, ""no shifting allowed"" ride to the kensico dam. join us and see why!

helmets optional, paceline skills preferred, social and handshaking skills mandatory."

Sounds fun...

Sounds fun.

Maybe everyone should duct-tape their right shifters w/ the brake levers to avoid cheating. This should work w/ all the Shimano brands.

Not sure if this will work w/ campy though.

Question

Do you know your destination yet? Please post when you do.

I would like to come, but it would be helpful to know the hill/bailout situation. I love my single-speed madly, but haven't ridden it more than 35 miles at a time. So I'm not yet sure our love can go the distance.

Shiftless Bums Ride Again!

"Since the weather cancelled the ""no class"" all-class ride on 7/24, Keith G and I have decided to fill the glaring gap in A- and B-rides for Sunday, August 8th.

Shifting riders will be sprayed with the contents of someone's water bottle! We'll probably be heading over the GWB, so you'll hafta climb on the way home (Churchill, Walnut, Booth, 9W, something...). Make sure your gearing can handle it.
