Don't care for Bag Balm so thought I'd try the Assos product. I'd prefer to get at a shop (ie, soon!) than via internet. Anyone know of a Manhattan shop that carries? thx

FYI...

...Assos chamois cream has menthol in it - some people don't notice it at all, others find that it burns like hell.

Chamois Butt'r and Nalini Relief cream are other options.

Don't know anything about Assos cream but . . .

Aquaphor and Body Glide are great. We're talking about soreness, chafing, right?

A note from the importer of the Assos cream re: its availability

"Assos' importer and sole distributor in the U.S. is Ochsner International in Chicago. I sent a salesman at Ochsner the link to this thread. Here was his response:

Richard,

On OLN (Road to the Tour?) Lance Armstrong held up a jar of Assos chamois cream and said something to the effect of ""this is made by a small company, I'm not sponsored by them so I can't say their name, but this chamois cream is the best, I don't ride without it..."" Ever since then we have been swamped with orders and re-orders. In the past two months we have sold more than we sell in well over a 12 month span. We simply can't keep it in stock. Many shops have started to carry the cream and their re-orders coupled with the existing shop orders have us inundated. There is more cream on the water - due in Montreal late July and more on the way after that. At this time we are completely sold out.

Thanks for the link.
