Are they one and the same? Was the drive once called River Road or am I just lost?

River Road is Henry Hudson Drive...
We call it River Road. I can't remember anybody actually calling it by its real name.

More confusion
"There is an Old River Road that runs adjacent to and starts from Rte 505/ River Rd, but that's well south of the G.W. bridge. Heading north, River Road becomes Hudson Terrace at or near the entrance to the State Park entrance - Henry Husdon Drive (better known as ""River Road"" to NYCCers as Hank pointed out)"

Thanks Hank for the clarification. That can be confusing though since there is an actual road named River Road-NJ 505-which is right near The Henry Hudson Drive, and not such a great road for cyclists

Why it's named wrong
"If they called Hudson Drive by its correct name, some cyclists who aren't riding with a full cog set would dutifully try pedaling up Manhattan's West Side Highway, which of course is named ""Henry Hudson Drive.""

Henry Hudson Pkwy.
"Point well taken, but I thought the West Side Highway was named "" Henry Hudson Pkwy-not Drive. Anyhow, The confusion was worth the trouble. Once found, ""River Road"" was a great way to head north of the city-so long as you like chipmunks and a hill or two."

Name dropping
West Side Highway is also named as 12th Avenue and Joe DiMaggio Highway, at least along various parts as well as Henry Hudson Parkway.
