Congratulations to The Honorable Rick Braun on his swearing in tonight as Justice of the Supreme Court of the State of New York.
Rick Braun
i finally met rick braun today on a ride to white plains (i was riding with herb, gail and tim...we crossed paths with rick and linda). i'm confused. i thought supreme court judges are supposed to be fat and slow? rick and linda did not look like your average lawyer/judge. they looked like crca racers!
boy, i really need to get to court more.
:)
don
Well, at least I'm not fat (taking off a vacation day yesterday on my birthday in
order to ride to Mamaroneck, before Linda took me out for a wonderful birthday
dinner at Terrace in the Sky, kept my weight gain for the day down to only a
pound)! Nice to cross paths with you all!
P.S. Keep out of court and on the bike instead; you'll live longer that way!
Herb-Thanks, and thanks to you and all who attended! Hope you had a good time!!
"Congrat's Rick........it will be an honor, to ride with
your ""honor""..........
Tim Andon"
Thanks, Tim! Always a pleasure to try to keep up with your wheel.
As a citizen of NY City and State, as a NYCC member and as an officer of the court, my congratulations to our newest member of the judiciary!!!
Thanks so much for your good wishes citizen/cyclist/counselor John (though I'm actually not new, but rather in my 15th year as a judge, and was just elected to the NYS Supreme Court, where I had been presiding as an Acting (Designated) Supreme Court Justice part time from 1994 until I began full time in May 1997)! Thanks again to all of you who voted for and supported me!
Too bad you won't be my Judge on 1/26 at 60 Centre St.;
Guardianship Hearing.
Hi Rick,
Congratulations. Nice to know at least one NYS judge is a cyclist and a strong one at that.
Alfredo
Thanks a lot, Alfredo! I don't know about the strong part, though.
Thanks! I have presided over quite a few guardianship proceedings, which are usually quite heart-rending. I hope not too much so for you.
although it has been a while since my last appearance before you, I look forward to the next one!
On a ride? Thanks, Gerry!
