Thanks for putting out your reminder, Maggie, and to all of you who made it (or later today make it) to vote for me!

Vote

Judge Rick:

I haven’t gone to the polls yet and I know how important it is to get the support of the cycling community.

So, where do you stand on the enthusiasts vs. snoots issue?
Who will you have as the VP for Programs? And,
Can you do anything about this speeding ticket that I haven’t paid?

Of course you got our vote. Everybody vote for Rick Braun.

Vote Stan Oldak and Kathy Jennings in the all important NYCC elections.

Good Luck to all!

Election Day Trivia:

What movie stars 2 different US State Governors before they turned to careers in politics?

I nominate YOU for VP of Programs. As to that alleged speeding ticket, I can tell you where to pay it (so how fast can you go on your bike? I'm sure that you, a cyclist, didn't get it driving in a car). Thanks!

Sorry, nice try but wrong.

Unless Ronald was in a movie w/ Arnold.

2 future governors in the SAME movie. We need the name of the 2 stars and the movie.

Judge Rick:

A bicycle was involved, but it was inside of a car I was driving in VT. (:-/)

VP of P? my Tuesday nights are filled.

What does the VP of Programs do?

Yes, this maybe a total expression of ignorance, but what does the VP of programs do? And I do not mean any disrespect to the outgoing VP of progams, who I am sure has done a fantastic job.

Thanks again so much to all of you who voted for me!! I just got the unofficial totals from the NYC Board of Elections showing that I was elected. I came in 2nd place to fill 1 of the 3 Manhattan Supreme Court Justice seats up for election this year (the one who came in 1st place, expectedly, was the only candidate-the only incumbent in the race- for Supreme Court Justice in Manhattan cross-endorsed this year by both the Democrats and the Republicans; the top 3 vote getters are elected).

Hope to see you on the road soon. Rick

"""Here come da judge"""

Well done, Your Honor!

I move that we maxmize our resources by appointing the renowned jurist to the position of Chief Justice of the New York Cycle Club.

In this lofty role, Judge Braun can keep order among us by settling divisive disputes (including urgent pending cases such as Carbon Fiber et al. v. Aluminum; Printed Bulletin v. Electronic Delivery; Enthusiasts v. Snoots, and so on). He can also mete out punishment for sundry violations such as pacebusting, wrong turns, failure to signal, nonpayment of dues, showing up for rides in a bad mood, and posting nasty messages on the bulletin board.

Most important, Judge Braun can ensure that the Club Bylaws are respected and enforced.

Do I hear a second?

congrats

Hi Rick,

If it wasn't for the NYCC message board (yeah, it was in the paper/pdf Nov. bulletin--plain forgot), I wouldn't had known you were on the ballot. And of course you got my vote in the 67th AD.

Best Wishes,
Alfredo

And thanks to you, Alfredo! If it wasn't for you and the others who took the time to exercise their precious right to vote, I would not have been elected.

Thanks, Herb (your one permitted vote was appreciated) and Carol!

Legal briefs (often a misnomer) on those disputes referred to by Carol can be submitted on the next ride that I will be co-leading in Amagansett on the weekend of November 29-30, 2003, with my co-judges, Linda Wintner and Jack Lehnert. Join us with your arguments.

You have my second as to respect and enforcement. Those who use the Club Message Board should comport themselves analogously to the Standards of Civility that has been promulgated for the lawyers of New York State
