Not being a fan of Spanish cycling (thought I was rooting for Heras & Beltran), I was curious how these guys did with the jersey's on in the Vuelta

overall, this is good group of riders. before doing the research, I thought perhaps half of these guys had already quit and had nothing better to do on a rest day. Good to know that these are not just a bunch of posers.

The star of the this group is Alejandro Valverde of the Kelme-Costa Blanca team. He was 3rd overall in General Class, riding right past Igor Gonzalez de Galeano; scored 100 Mountain Points 4th overall; earned 161 Sprint Points, 2nd overall just losing to Eric Zabel, and edging Pettachi who won 5 stages. Valverde Won the Combo Classification. Could we be looking at a future Vuelta champion?
