MS Ride

The MS Ride is on Sunday, Sept. 14th; not on Saturday as you wrote.

apples and oranges

I have not been on the Harvest Ride, but I've done Sound Cyclist's other ride, the Bloomin' Metric in the spring. They do great rides. I think they use some of the same routes, but I'm not sure. Plus all of the riding is OUT of NYC, which is where riding should be done.

I beleive it was on the return stretch of the MS ride a number of years ago they had riders going AGAINST traffic on a cobble stone street. Not my cup of tea.

As long as it's not raining, go to the Harvest Ride.

Route has change since...

"""I beleive it was on the return stretch of the MS ride a number of years ago they had riders going AGAINST traffic on a cobble stone street. Not my cup of tea.""

The route has change since then, with the WTC no longer the staging site, you won't be going over the cobble stone streets in Greenwich Village. The return site will be Pier 54 and will probably utilize the Westside Greenway from the GWB. The biggest problem will be for those doing the 65 miles or greater riders the bottle neck you will enounter climbing up and down the GWB's stairs, both end."
