I always wondered...

who all those people are who are coming into Manhattan on the GWB when we're going out in the morning. It's the Rockland bicke club!

It's always good to cover new ground

For Rocklanders riding to NYC is a worthwhile story. Having grown up in New City, I was riding Little Tor and South Mountain when I was a kid on a Schwinn 3 speed (didn't get dropped on the hills then either... perhaps I should dig up the old bike) It gets boring riding the some beautiful traffic free roads after a while.

little tor

...little tor on a 3-speed?! wow. you must've had a lot of soda pop before the climb! little tor is a wicked climb...i remember being in top shape and still getting stomach cramps racing the other climbers to the top.

Weight to power

At the time my weight was about a third of its current value... and the baseball cards in the spokes made that Stingray sound like a powerful machine.... so you can see how the ratio was improved (we also used to zig zag up the roads back then... there was VERY little traffic there 30 years ago)
