WOO HOO HOO!!!!!!
Stage 16
This is unbelieveable, what a fabulous ride! What a magnificant performance! I can't predict what will happen next in this tour! Help, was I separated at birth from Paul Sherwen?
Seriously, last night I thought that Tyler might attempt some kind of attack, taking advantage that Lance and Jan would want to take it easy, and that many riders would be unprepared for such an attack right after the rest day.
But I did not dream it could succeed. Congratulations to Tyler Hamilton for the victory, his first TDF stage win, only the sixth by an American. What courage shown by a rider injured serously in stage 1.

where did you get that number?
:)
don
"Only six Americans have won a stage. Americans have won more than six stages. Contradiction? No.
""Chainwheel"""
"From the following web site: http://www.letour.com/2003/us/index.html
then click back to stage 16, and read the summary, which contains the following
[Tyler] Hamilton became the sixth American to win a stage of the Tour de France. He follows the lead set by Greg Lemond, Davis Phinney, Jeff Pierce, Andy Hampsten and his former colleague from the early years of his career the US Postal Service team, Lance Armstrong.
I see the confusion. I should have said ""Only the sixth American to do so"". Indeed, Americans have won quite more than six stages, Lance having the most, but the total number escapes me."
