It looks a group of us will be heading to Blondie's Sports Bar on West 79th (B'dway/Amsterdam) at 8:30PM on Sunday and Monday. Tables will be available for fans at all levels (A/B/C)... Rumor has it the CRCA will be sending a team to join us. All are welcome of course so tell your friends
The manager promised us the back room with a projection TV and good sound.
Please post your intentions so I can give the bar a prelim headcount
Thanks
Tour De France - Sunday/Monday Night
I'll be there Monday.
I saw it this morning. Best stage yet. You will love it!!
Hi, I'm not a member of the club but was looking for a place to watch on Sunday--I'd like to be there if it's OK.
thanks--
Yung
This is not really a club event, it's more like one guy in the club (me) arranged with a bar to have the tour on one of their big TVs so that cycling fans have a place to go. Tell whomever you wish though cycling hooliganism will not be tolerated.
A friend Tim may also show up.
Jody Sayler will be there.
It should be well worth watching with a group.
Back room at Blondies is confirmed for this evening at 8:30
sorry...just trying to get more people to show up. :) i hope i can make it.
I'll be there with friend. Thanks!
Best stage yet
AND all you can eat wings for $9.95 at Blondies in the back room.
Hope you have more room for two or three more people!
karen reich and I will be there!
"Hanging out with at least 50 people cheering on our champ in the best stage so far - a GREAT time was had by all.
Settling up at the end was a bit of a hassle but in typical club style most paid their due easily.... but 50 people in a bar for 2 hours and the bar part of the bill was only $210... a very weak performance... many ""C"" level drinkers...
The bar is very open to having us back for the TT on Saturday or the finale on Sunday (or anything else). I told them we tend to ride those mornings but interested people should post their desires."
What a rush! 50 or so cyclists in a room surrounded by big and small screens. Easily the most awesome stage of the tour to date!
The room was rocking as the final climb drew to a close!
UN-BE-LIEV-A-BLE!!!
Michael, thanks for being the inspiration behind this new annual event!
Well Done, Well Done!!
"quoting michael...

"Bravo Michael!! What a great idea you had and what fun it was to get together and watch the TDF surrounded by so many fun and enthusiastic cycling fans. You brought new meaning to the phrase ""carpe diem."" And your willingness to collect the money and square the bill was above and beyond.
You've definately got NYCC Board member potential, remember elections are only a few months away!"
