It's likely 70 miles RT.
The numbers seem to indicate at what mile of your trip to expect the turn.
I suggest you get detailed maps of Bergen & Rockland counties for a bigger picture and alternative routes.
Restaurants come and go. This particular place may or may not be around.

Can you suggest a source of suitable detailed maps? I tried to get a street map from AAA of Bergen County but was unsuccessful. Thanks.

Try the Hagstrom maps. They are available at Staples, Barnes & Noble & other bookstores and at the Hagstrom shop at 43rd St just east of 6th Av (Manhattan.)
The AAA NJ Map has two sides. One side is of Northern NJ, which has a decent level of detail (e.g. marked & named secondary roads.)
