I know some of you can't make it but tomorrow's ride will go but an hour later. If you dress correctly and have pure thoughts you might get home with all your appendages attached and intact. I might ride my mountain bike for stability over questionable road surfaces.

Saturday A ride to Nyack to leave at 11:00 AM
How many guys usually come out?
Hello friend,
You may not have heard, but this club welcomes both men and women on its rides.
You want men only? Go to Augusta.
its a figure of speech and I'm sure not meant to cause offence
Whether he meant to cause offence or not is irrelevant.
He is using language that apparently excludes half the members of this club. Perhaps his friends know what he means. But in this public forum, it demonstrates a lack of circumspection, at the least. Which deserves to be ridiculed.
This is a forum for cycling-related issues, not for lessons in political correctness. If you want to ridicule posters for lack of circumspection, I respectfully request you do it somewhere else or at the very least, point it out in a polite and dignified manner.
Dear Mr. Kowalczyk,
Thank you so much for posting on the New York Cycle Club message board!
I’m afraid I can’t accurately answer your question, as the number of people who show up for weekend rides changes with the weather and other variables. However, please be aware that in addition to the gentlemen, sometimes ladies participate in our rides as well.
I truly hope this news is not disturbing to you. However, should you prefer things otherwise, please be aware that there are still many places where the desire for unimpeded masculine companionship can be satisfied. May I suggest, for instance, joining the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia?
With warmest wishes,
Club Member
oh grow up and stop making huge issues out of innocent postings or inquiries
Hank;
10:15 AM -- getting layered.
I dident mean to offend anyone so relax. Damn you people are up tight!
and people wonder why some are reluctant to go on NYCC rides.
Low turnout has never been a problem on any of the weekend rides I've been on. And while the cyclists are generally independent-minded, there's ultimately a strong sense of group spirit. Antisocial behavior isn't much appreciated.
Act like a jerk, talk like a jerk, get treated like a jerk. It's a simple equation. Or give respect, and get it back. Your choice.
Amen to that!!!
