"Anyone know if they clear and grit the George Washington Bridge bike path in this weather ? ALso since this is my first winter ""on the bike"" what are the NJ authorities usually like for clearing the 9W and 501 etc.

Thanks

GWB/snow

In the past the GWB bike path was mostly cleared within a day or two of snow, but there have been small stretches with ice or snow which required prudent bikers to walk their bikes for 20-30 feet--no big deal. The NJ roads you mentioned are now dry but the shoulders may have plowed snow on them--thus reducing somewhat the total width of the roads avail to autos and bikes. Also in the AM the runoff may have froze, creating small icy patches--If it warms up to the mid/hi 30's this wont be a problem in midday.

GWB/snow

One aspect of the melt is that the roads (and the GWB) will surely be wet in some places.
