Co-Ride Leader for Rides Starting in Queens
I'm an experienced rider looking to start leading rides (B 15/16) originating in Queens and going out to Long Island. Would any of the experienced ride leaders be interested in co-leading a couple of rides with me so I can get my feet wet? If so, please send email to [email protected].
Thanks,
Steve
Congrats Siggies (Question)
When will there be new registeration for the newbies again? I'd like to sign up.
Thank you!

Watch for Alpine/Nyack Cops
I got a fat $85 ticket for "failure to observe signal". Specifically, the red light coming out from Alpine/River Road, on my way back from the north. Of course, the infraction is not really accurate, as I totally observed the signal. What I failed to do was observe the cop sitting there, who even told me "I was sitting RIGHT THERE".
Nevertheless,I was pretty pissed off, but then felt better when I remembered that the first cop that pulled me over in Nyack for running a stop sign (roughly an hour earlier) let me off with a verbal warning.
I only wonder if I had given an ID other than my driver's license, if I would not have received the ticket. Also wondering if points will go on my license.
Bloomin Metric
I have two tickets for the blooming Metric this Sunday May 20th. I am participating in the Gran Fondo on Sunday and because of the conflict can not use the tickets. I got these early on, so are at the fourty eight dollar price point. Please email if interested, [email protected]
Update, one ticket left.
Palisades Cliff Rockslide on Tuesday 5-15 did not effect the roadway.. River Road IS OPEN

Touring Gear
Hey everyone!
This is probably the third or fourth time I've mentioned this trip of mine on the forums so I'll make the intro quick. A friend of mine and I are relative novices (only relative because I just finished the C-SIG!) to cycling and are planning a tour from NJ/NY to California for next May (almost exactly a year from now).
Still Room to Register for this Sunday's Montauk Century ride
On the fence about doing the Montauk Century? There's still time to register:

You owe it to yourself to check out this all-new ride route for 2012. It's super-scenic, takes the best of the back roads, and bypasses the worst congestion of Montauk Highway. Start at Hampton Bays, Long Island, or at Penn Station NYC (with 5BBC-provided transportation). Choice of 65, 100, or 125 mile routes.
