Anyone riding in the Seagull Century, Salisbury, MD this weekend?
With 5000 riders from all over the place, just checking to see if anyone else is headed down there this weekend?

Ex-NYCC member takes 3rd Place in Women's Worlds ITT (Individual Time Trial)
Former NYCC member Evelyn Stevens finished third, 21:25 behind winner Lisa Brennauer of Germany, and 2.57' out of second place in the worlds ITT in Spain Tuesday.
Henry Hudson Drive Closure
October 4 (Saturday) River Road will be closed from the south entrance to and including the Ross Dock from dawn until noon. (I'm not sure if it's to prep for the MS Bike Ride the following day, but it could be.)
An interesting idea

NY1 The Call
Big shout out to our very own "Alan from Midtown", who called into the show last night and voiced his opinion about the topic everyone is talking about.
Want a Lift to Shelter Island?
This weekend, Pat Mullen is reprising his wonderful Shelter Island (and South Fork) Ride, and I am reprising my offer to transport up to three cyclists and their bikes to and from the start at Greenport. First come, first serve. Gas money accepted, but not expected (I'd be driving anyway). Lemme know.

Cyclists who work in Finance
hi all... I am a longtime cyclist/racer and work at Bloomberg News. A colleague is starting to write a news story.
...
Esme Deprez, a reporter at Bloomberg News, is looking to talk to New Yorkers who are both passionate about cycling and work in finance. Part of the story is that she is wondering how Wall Street cyclists are reacting to the crash in Central Park, and how they think they and riding in NYC may be affected by the whole situation...
You can contact her directly (ASAP) at edeprez (at) bloomberg.net or 212 617-1739
If you can spare 15 secs., you've GOT to watch this! (I'd say over and over, stopping and stopping it.)
It's current; it was just posted today.
Police presence in Central Park this morning
Heavy police presence this morning near 72nd street on the west side of the park. Myself and 2 other cyclists stopped and given a warning to stop at the red lights.
