cylists pulled over on Riverside Drive

Submitted by mgeller1 on Sat, 11/08/2014 - 5:48pm

Today I noticed several bikers on the side of the road with police on both my ride out and ride in to the city. Not sure if this represents a crackdown, but riders should exercise caution as always.

Something to be outraged about

The Myth Of The Bicycle Helmet

Submitted by vinlaw on Thu, 11/06/2014 - 8:48pm

A friend sent me this. I haven't actually read it in it's entirety so I am not offering a supporting opinion of it. I just figured I'd post it for others to peruse.

Stolen bike

Submitted by BHafkin on Thu, 11/06/2014 - 6:08pm

Hi. I'm posting this for one of the Rapha gals. (Sorry, I don't know how to post the pics.)

UPDATED

I just got an email from NYCares and they are 80,000 coats short of their 100,000 coat goal. The collection ends Dec. 31.

Do you have a coat to give? If so, email me and I will come pick it up. I can also give you a donation receipt.

If it's easier, you can also drop off a coat at any police precinct from Nov. 17 to Dec. 31, or one of 300 drop-off sites to be announced.

Coats should be washed or dry cleaned before donating.

Late-Ish Ride Posting: Pancake Ride (B16) for Saturday

Submitted by BVan Nieuwenhoven on Thu, 11/06/2014 - 1:53pm

Had to get some stuff sorted with my schedule, but now I'm all set. Dropped it down to a B16 pace to welcome more riders along, and it's a ride where you can get back to the city by 2pm if you need to get somewhere else in the evening (as I do)
