Cops are targeting cyclists along St. Nick
Be forewarned: According to a cop in an unmarked police car (as he was writing up my $190 ticket this morning), the police have been ordered to do a ticketing campaign to get cyclists running red lights along St. Nick.
It turns out there is no such thing as good pedaling technique. Seriously. Also, no perfect bike fit. Really.
You've been told to "pedal in circles." And "pull up on your pedals." And "be smooth." Turns out it just doesn't matter.

An election related question for the board to consider
We are fortunate to get any qualified person to fill each volunteer position on the board.
But sometimes we find someone who we feel should not be on the board at all, at least I sometimes do. We have seen people get a toehold onto a rung of power and work their way up, in the process degrading the institution.
Subway together to Marathon ride?
I’m slightly uncomfortable taking the subway myself from the UWS to the start of the Marathon ride in the very early morning. Anyone want to meet up? (I’m not fit enough to join those riding out from Union Square.)

The Grudge
Unbelievable. The ability of the Old Guard to bludgeon each other to death and still have the energy to be active participants in the club (not only riding, but leading, scouting, creating routes, attending meetings etc.) is incredible. Actually, it's down right impressive. BRAVO I say. BRAVO!!!
And the New Guard - the ability to not only open up new grudges, but poke the hell out of, activate, snatch that mantel and run with the old ones - WOW dude!!! WOW. .... ..... such energy. Such potential. Such ... a wasted opportunity.
