Bicycle Workshop Custom Lab Launch Event
Club Members,
You are all welcome to attend the Tenafly Bicycle Workshop Custom Lab Launch event on February 23rd from 2-6PM.
We will be joined by our friends from Seven Cycles, Alchemy Bicycle Company, VohHof Cycles, Metal Guru, Shimano, SRAM, and more. If you have ever considered buying a custom bike or would just like to know more about the process, please come on by for an awesome free event. There will also be some promotional deals from our vendors for all the attendees. We hope to see many of you there.
You have to love...
...a political candidate who holds her first campaign event at a bicycle shop! (Shift Cyclery and Coffee Bar in Eau Claire, Wis. - and yes, there's a photo showing bikes hanging from the ceiling.) Unfortunately, it doesn't indicate any relationship between the candidate and cycling...but still....

Ex-NYer Mag cartoon editor's contest:Two cavemen are admiring a bike one has invented with square wheels. You write the caption.
The former cartoon editor of The New Yorker has a website on which he publishes cartoons andi invites you to supply the captions.
The subject name, above, describes this week's cartoon. See it at the link below and scroll through the captions (by clicking on stars) to see some pretty good ones

2019 D-SIG waitlist
I’m happy (and humbled) to report that the 40 participant spots for the 2019 D-SIG have filled. The NYCC website does not include a waitlist function for SIG sign-ups, so if you missed out but would like to be considered for a spot in the ’19 D, please contact me and/or my D-SIG co-captain John Siemens (NYCC username jsiemens); we’ll add you to our informal waitlist and get in touch if a spot opens up.
GW Bridge path is clear
The PA must have gotten the word about their de-icer. The path was almost totally clean today. There are still occasional clumps of it going across, but you can ride around them. (Do NOT ride thru them! From a distance they look like little patches of slushy snow that you'd normally ride right thru. They're not...so don't.)
I stopped to read the label on one of the bags left on the side of the path. It's calcium chloride pellets..."premium snow & ice melt."

How old is your frame?
Not the one hanging on your wall, nor the one sitting in the building's bike graveyard (ooops, I mean "bike room"). Not even your clunker ("commuter") you occasionally pedal a few block for a begal (or even to your office downtown).
But what's the oldest frame you ride at least semi-regularly in club rides (>45 mi?). Or any bike you ride on outings lasting 2-3 hours or even longer?
B-Sig registration broken?
Hi, I'm trying to register for the B-SIG but there's no sign up button.
It looks like I could sign up for A-SIG or D-SIG, but there are no buttons on the others.
