RR / HH Drive open or closed?
River Road aka Henry Hudson Drive was closed yesterday (Monday 26th). Anyone know if it's open / passable today?
[TLDR / it's fine]
Bike racks at The Market (aka Filling Station)
Haven't had a problem yet, but am I being a bit paranoid in thinking that the new low-profile bike racks that they put down at The 9W Market, hit exactly where your rear derailleur is.. and a tip of bit could bend or break something? Especially seems since most everyone put their bikes in these with the rear wheel and not the front.
Anyway.. just a thought or watchout if you will.
piermont road heading south toward the G.W. ?
I rode this the first time south to 502 usually I go back on 9w. never went past oak tree road before
Any value to continuing past 502 and turning on Clinton instead? I see it on the map but decided against this weekend as Piermont Road appeared to be getting busier at that point. Thoughts?

Today several of us joined hundreds of other cyclists for the memorial ride for Jose Alzorriz, who was the 19th cyclist killed this year in our fair city. It was a somber occasion as we made our way down Coney Island Avenue from Prospect Park to Avenue L, where the tragedy occurred, especially as none of us is under any illusion that Jose’s will be the last death this year. Whether the answer is more and better bike lanes, tougher laws, better driver education or all of the above, something must be done.
