Cycling things to sell or give away

Submitted by APineda on Tue, 05/31/2011 - 8:16am

I have too much cycling stuff.

Here are things I'm giving away.  If there's something that interests you, let me know in next day or two.  Whatever is left goes to Recycle-a-Bicycle on Thursday.

Radio Shack outlet adapters, multiple prongs (honestly, not great quality but it's free)

Specialized Mini Tool hand pump

Ultra Battery rechargeable USB Power Pack (unopened package) - for recharging your phone or computer on long rides

Rear-view mirror - installs into handlebar

Assos leg warmers, small

Assos Uma jacket, black, ladies' medium

Assos helmet liner, grey, one size

Assos jersey, black & white, ladies' medium but very fitted

Davis Phinney in NY

Submitted by RRademacher on Tue, 05/31/2011 - 7:58am

I just noticed that Davis Phinney is doing a reading from his book at the Barnes and Noble in Tribeca at 6pm on Wednesday.  For those youngsters out there, Davis was one of the great American cyclists of the 1980's and I believe but could be wrong, the first American to win a road stage at the TDF.  Oh, and he is the father of the up and coming Taylor Phinney.  The book is about cycling and his battle with Parkinson's disease.

Searching message board for past messages

Submitted by CGuzzetta on Tue, 05/31/2011 - 7:57am

Is there a way to search the message board for past messages posted via "author", "subject", whatever?

Thanks.

Thanks Tom & Reyna

Thank you both for organizing yet another fantastic NYCC weekend in the Berks. I'm already counting down the days until next year!

Thank You - Lantern House Organizers

Submitted by dinae on Mon, 05/30/2011 - 8:05pm

Just wanted to publicly acknowledge and thank the Lantern House Memorial Day Weekend trip organizers (Paul H, Patricia K, Gary M and other trip leaders that were there) who all took care of us there and essentially teamed up in making the pre-trip/trip arrangements.  I apologize if I left other notaable trip leader names out (tired and hungry on a Sunday night after a ride).  Also wanted to give a thank you shout out to all the NYCC riders staying there who made it all a fun weekend. Hope to see you all on another ride, perhaps a reunion ride.

I always had fond memories of my C-SIG experiences, so I really do like hanging with this crew (in addition to the other SIG crews).

Cycling in Middlebury CT on Saturday June 4th

Submitted by FLoome on Mon, 05/30/2011 - 12:41pm

Long shot, but anyone want to go for a ride in or around Middlebury CT on Saturday June 4th, in the afternoon? I'm heading up to cheer, but not compete, for the olympic and half-ironman triathlons that weekend, and hoping to get a ride in.

Maybe like 40-50 miles? A19-ish pace? But I'm flexible on both of those :)

LIttle Tor no more!

Submitted by EGlicklich on Mon, 05/30/2011 - 6:12am

After further consideration, the ride to Little Tor is cancelled. It's too rainy and the roads are too wet.

We hope to re-post the ride in a few weeks under clear skies.

Piermont Ride, Monday May 30

Submitted by EJaffe on Mon, 05/30/2011 - 6:07am

We'll meet as planned at 9 AM since the forecast shows the rain tapering off sharply mid-morning.

Should it still be pouring at the start we'll reassess.

Little Tor ride, Monday, May 30th

Submitted by EGlicklich on Mon, 05/30/2011 - 5:59am

We still want to ride! However, obviously we will not if it continues with this down-pour. The weather forecast tells us the chance of precipitation decreases significantly into almost nothing in about an hour....

We are still planning to meet at Grants Tomb for 8:30, but if, at 8:30, it is still carrying on like this (thunder, lightning rain, rain and rain) then, we will regrettfully cancel the ride.
