Hi - I am new and I am overwhelmed by the rabbithole of information and options. I have been living on my single speed for five years now - I am in love with the simplicity - but am pushing myself out to longer rides and further adventures (50 mile rides, 100 mile rides). I would like to do RAGBRAI next summer - and so I need a decent road bike.

I am looking for either a bike or just help in buying a bike. I don't need the very best bike or the super fastest bike, but I would like a good fast comfortable bike. I am not an athlete. I'm not going to race. I would like the kind of bike that I can use to tour the Hudson River Valley, or visit friends in Philly.

I know that's vague. I'm overwhelmed. Sorry and thanks.

My 2nd bike and therefore very lightly used.  10-speed Chorus components, Campy Proton wheels, Campy pedals.  Set-up for Campy computer as well.  $1,500 OBO.

I have upgraded to the 1000 so my 810 is up or sale.  It works well.  $200.  I can include a heart rate strap for a bit extra but you will want the new speed and cadense senders.

Well used, but still runs great - just tuned up at the shop. Great, light bike for someone new to the sport. When this bike had full Dura Ace components and carbon handlebars, the weight was around 17 lbs.
