  • Social Sunday Ride (Open to members and non-members)

On Sunday, October 25, the New York Cycle Club is throwing open the doors and allowing non-members to join club members for a very social ride to the Market on 9W.

Come one, come all! There will be several ride levels to choose from, all lead by experienced NYCC leaders. Two 'C' groups, a C-13 and a C-14, and three 'B' groups B-15, B-16 and B-17, will all descend upon the market for what might best be termed a "Coffee Mixer". Conversation about bikes, club rides and activities (including the Club's signature program, the SIG), will abound. Check here for more details about NYCC Rides

Whether you're already a member with 25 years of club riding behind you, or a newbie who just bought their first bike, we want to see you on this ride. Come and find out what makes our 'C' riders so cool, our 'B' riders so bodacious, and our 'A' riders simply awesome.

For those of you who haven’t ridden with NYCC before, you will be organized into small groups according to your riding style and pace. We will have plenty of experienced leaders to ride with you, help with flats, stay with you if you drop behind and generally make the ride pleasant and safe.

The ride will start at 9:00am at Grant's Tomb. Check in will begin at 8:45, please be on time! We will head over the George Washington Bridge and make our way to the Market on 9W. From 11:30 to 1:30, you'll have the time and opportunity to talk to club leaders, to pick their brains as to what makes the NYCC so special. And you'll meet others who share the same passion as you do... the joy of simply getting on your bike!

The ride itself will be just under a forty mile total, and even that can be cut shorter by five miles if you hop on the subway when we recross the Bridge back into NY. The route has only one climb, and that's on the way home, just before the Bridge. And if you're not a climber, you can simply dismount and walk up, the hill is pretty short, and we'll be happy to wait for you.

Both members and non-members need to sign up for this ride below. It will not be listed in the normal ride listing.

All participants must wear a helmet. Bikes must be in serviceable condition. And you will need two (full) water bottles, two spare tubes (and the means to remove, and inflate your tires).

Bring a couple of bucks for coffee and a snack... and most importantly, bring your smile :)

We look forward to seeing you all!
