Training for Optimal Performance

As recreational cyclists, we spend a more than a fair amount of time on our bikes, but are we actually training for optimal performance or even improving? Do you know that this year a couple of young, eager and innovative NYCC members have developed the club’s first racing and development team and ……have been remarkably successful?

Please join us at our June 13 th club meeting to hear from our NYCC Racing & Development Team co-captains, James Gilbert and Andrew Leone to learn about the interesting and motivating story of how and why this team was developed and has enjoyed surprising success in their very first year of competition. In addition, Chad Butts and Allan Rego, the team’s professional coaches, from enduranceWERX, will provide the key elements of how to really maximize your time on the bike and train for optimal performance.

Gran Fondo NJ will be sponsoring the meeting with valuable raffle prizes

Schedule:

7:00PM – program

Gran Fondo NJ

Gran Fondo NJ is the northeast’s most fun Gran Fondo and for the past 3 years has been named as one to the top 3 Gran Fondos in the USA.

The 2017 event is expected to draw approximately 3,000 registered riders in an amazing Mass Start.

Gran Fondo NJ features scenic routes of 107, 75, 62, 42 and 18 miles and 6 themed support stations with locavore foods.

Although the event is a ride, not a race, there are timed segments on the toughest hill climbs on the four longest routes.

In its first 6 years the event and its participants have raised over $1,000,000 for local and national charities.

Come and celebrate cycling with an amazing event, and finish with a food festival, expo and beer.
