Welcome to NYCC Racing and Development’s weekly training ride! 

Every week - the same 9W based route - designed to give members the opportnuity to ride with stronger riders - and take shortcuts to regroup if needed. The ride has two options - non-stop to Rockland Lake or stop at Runcible Spoon - and rejoin the Rockland group as they ride back past the Spoon. Then it's full gas back to Strictly Bike Shop and the end of the ride.

WARNING - This ride is for experianced riders with existing strong paceline skills, involves highly variable speeds and is full drop.

MEET = 7.20am GWB NJ Side

START = 7.30am Sharp

LEAVE RUNCIBLE = 9.15am

FINISH = ~10.15am Strictly Bicycles

  • MASKS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES WHEN STOPPED!
  • HIGHLY VARIABLE SPEEDS 
  • ROTATING PACE LINES
  • IT'S OK TO JUST SIT ON THE BACK AND NOT ROTATE

  • FULL DROP = Come prepared to ride home alone if needed.
  • RAIN/COLD/CANCEL
    • Ride cancelled below 40 degrees or when wet
    • Ride confirmation email send out ~7.30pm Friday night
    • Zwift alternative if cancelled

 

  • DEVELOPMENT TEAM – Regular riders will be welcome to join our Development Team which will include more rides, a training program, a group chat room.
  • RACE TEAM – Development members who have ridden extensively with the team and have completed their first races, show safe riding skills and have a desire to be part of a team first orientated team will be welcomed in!


Before You Ride

  • Make sure your bike is in GOOD working order.
  • Pump up tires to the pressure specified on the sidewall.
  • Bring essentials: helmet, 2 spare tubes, pump, patch kit, 2 water bottles, pocket food, ID, and cash (credit optional).
  • Eat a good breakfast consisting of carbohydrates and proteins.

Bicycle helmets are required head attire for all NYCC Club rides.

Earphones are not allowed while riding. Aerobars are not allowed while riding.

If you signed up and find you cannot make the ride, please remove yourself and open the slot for others.
