Newcomers Ride to Piermont - June 30, 2013
Welcome New NYCC Members! Welcome ALL members!
Please join the New York Cycle Club on its Annual Newcomers Ride on June 30, 2013!
This is an ALL-member ride. Come and join us in welcoming our new members, whether you are new or not new.
Note to all members: Lunch will be provided by the New York Cycle Club. Don't miss out!
The New York Cycle club hosts some amazing events thgouthout the year, including our popular SIG series, our wonderful monthly meetings, our daily rides and fun socials... and the NYCC Newcomers Ride
This is designed especially for you, our newest members, and features a delicious free lunch, provided to all participants at the Goswick Pavillion in Piermont. Don't miss this special celebration.
Choose which group to join- we classify rides as A, B, C. The A’s are experienced and faster riders and generally ride in a tighter rotating paceline, the B’s take a more leisurely pace, approx 15-18 mph on flat terrain, and the C riders are generally less experienced and ride at a 12-14 mph pace on flat terrain. There will be several “pace” options in each group. Choose your group conservatively.
Cue sheets will be provided to all participants at the start of the ride. Bring a cue sheet holder or small binder clips to attach the cue sheet to your cables.
A helmet, one (preferably two) filled water bottles, an extra tube in case of a flat (and whatever you need to change and inflate a new tube) are required. You don't need to know how to fix a flat, but you do need that spare tube, as they are different depending on the bike you have.
- No headphones, earbuds or aerobars are allowed on NYCC rides.
This is an exciting event and we hope you will find your way into the Club!
